Wild Swan is an absolutely amazing book. I could not put it down and have read this at least 5 times. It is astounding what the Chinese people especially the women have gone though. Change happens quickly and in less than three generations China went from feudal regime to communism whilst surviving so many who wanted to control them. This is by far my favourite book and would strongly recommend anyone who wants a thrilling and highly emotional page turner, I could not do anything for about half an hour after finishing it for the first time, I was completely dumbstruck. My problem is I keep lending it out and I never get it back, so I have bought it just as many times as I have read it!

Very moving story about how one family lived in the era of Chairman Mao. Upsetting in many sections and you will wonder at the unspeakable tortures that people experienced during that time.
