A diet with a sense of humour!
11 May 2010
Brilliantly and beautifully written, this is a diet book that makes sense not only of a way of eating but of the whole rationale of dieting. It's a pick and mix of low-carb diets which is user-friendly and practical, even to the point of including ways to manage virtually every situation, from a funeral tea to drinks with your colleagues to weddings. Whole-heartedly recommended as not only a way to lose weight, but a way to keep it off.

Have fun reading a diet book

I never thought that I would laugh so much reading a diet book! it is beautifully written and well illustrated and best of it all it works. I was nagged by a friend to buy the book because frankly I do not 'do' diet books, but this one is different. the authors clearly know what they are talking about as they say they walked the walk. It is sensible advice and frankly it changed my life.

The best diet book in the world, ever!
08 May 2010
Follow the advice in this diet book and you will feel full, be able to eat lots of wonderful foods including mayonnaise, cream and cheese, and most importantly, lose pounds at a fantastically fast, motivating, encouraging rate. It's superbly written, addresses the psychological aspects of overeating, exercising and dieting as well as the scientific aspects, and prompts you to become a much healthier person all round (or not round, once you've followed it for a few weeks LOL). The emphasis is on good quality proteins, green veg / salad, and satisfying quantities of sauces, dressings and toppings that make this way of dieting a way of eating for life.
Atkins it is NOT. Have tried that and it was horrible. Love this! There is also a cookbook to help you, especially if you are a veteran of "other" diets so that this way of eating is a bit alien to you. It requires a bit of a mindset change (i.e. realising that fat in food is your friend, making sure you don't eat low-fat products in the mistaken belief that they will help you lose weight) but once you get used to it, it really is the best. And you can even eat out / have takeaways without having to resort to boring salads every time! What more could you want?

Bought by accident =- changed my life!
08 May 2010
I bought this one day when I'd just had a new hair do - just in case it really was idiot proof, and I've never looked back - new hair, new attitude to food.
The book is well written, as you'd expect from the authors, and great fun, makes it all so easy to follow. If you're looking for low carb (or just healthy eating) can't recommend it too highly!

Life changing

It's not a diet but a way of life. Loads of tips, easy to follow recipes and no need to buy anything special. Say goodbye to low fat for ever. No more counting calories, counting points, sins or weighing portions. Deal with your reasons for over eating and watch the pounds fall off. You will never look back.

This book has changed my life
08 May 2010
Having been overweight for years and tried loads of diets, I thought that this would be another 'tried it and it didn't work' book. How wrong I was. 'Neris and India's Idiot-proof Diet' has been written by two women who understand about emotional eating and how it can rule your life.
The low carb way of life makes sense scientifically, but it had always seemed to be hard to get into. This book guides you carefully along the way, advising you on a day by day basis on your food consumption. There are no artificial foods, just proper food, cooked simply and tastes great.
I've lost 5 stone in two years. I understand the relationship I had with food and I've been able to break the vicious circle.
This book isn't just a diet book, it provides a way of eating for life. I cannot recommend it highly enough - buy it today!

Inspiring, hilarious, real.

I stumbled accross this book by accident as a friend I know was doing the diet and when I asked her why she was looking so good she lent it to me. I am so glad she did, I now have my own copy and it has made me address my health issues and change my way of eating. It is a very straightforward, easy to follow diet book written by two women who were real fatties like I am, who also needed a diet that was relevant to their busy lives, also just like me. They have taken the best of many low-carb diets and made a plan that is accessible as well as restaurant friendly. No weighing, messing about with calculations and no starving yourself. There are anecdotes throughout the book which veer from screamingly funny to heartrending and many of the suggestions made me squirm uncomfortably being so close to the awful truth about my own issues with food. A truly inspiring diet that really works, written by ex-fatties who have walked the walk- not just talked the talk.
