This trilogy is the best trilogy I have ever read! Katniss Everdeen is forced to grow up at a young age and then is forced into the Games where she becomes a symbol of rebellion. This trilogy is all about survival, history and love. I suggest these books to everyone! Suzanne Collins brilliantly captures a dystopian country perfectly.

‘The Hunger Games’ by author Suzanne Collins was gripping from start to finish. Albeit a novel filed under the genre of books suited for younger folk, it doesn’t come across that way and would be suitable for all ages in ones humble opinion. The book flowed and didn’t require a high attention span, which enables the reader to immerse oneself into the story without being side-tracked by whatever else is going on around in the environment in which one choose...s to peruse a good book. Full of detail and wording that flared ones imagination with the slightest of words. ‘The Hunger Games’ is based around the life of ‘Katniss Everdeen’ who resides in ‘District 12’, set in a futuristic North America named ‘Panem’ there is a great divide between rich and poor. The districts are under oppression from the ‘Capitol’ and have been for as long as anyone can remember. Without ruining the storyline; two children from each district are selected at ‘the reaping’ and are subject to partake in a brutal, harsh and challenging game called ‘The Hunger Games’. Only one may survive, it’s a choice of kill or be killed. The novel was a delight to read and really allowed the reader to become apart of this fantasy world. There are some interesting plot twists to keep you guessing. RLSBS would definitely recommend you read ‘The Hunger Games’. Thank you Suzanne Collins for keeping our young……. and older folk reading.

I was really excited about getting this book and I wasn't disappointed!! The storyline is great and I have to admit that I cried a lot, but I also laughed a few times as well. There is quite a few gory bits so if you don't like stories that are quite bloody, then don't get this book! Also, I loved the ending because it wasn't a huge cliff hanger (I hate those), but it still made you want to know what happens in the next book.

Would recommend, and have!

This isn't usually my genre of novel so I was slightly delayed in getting this book. After hearing a great review from a colleague I decided to get this first book in the trilogy, deciding if I do like the first one, then I'll purchase the other 2.
I now own all 3 books! This book is the start of a very addictive trilogy. As this is for young adults, I found it very easy to follow and it was nice to have a read of something that's entertaining, yet not too 'deep'.
A friend of mine had seen the film, so I let her borrow this first book from me, and now she already owns the rest of the trilogy.

Gripping Read!

Absolutely brilliant book.Kept me reading till the very last page, felt myself skip a few sentences just to see what would happen.
Slightly horrific in some parts which I loved because you wouldnt expect it from a 'teenage' book. I'd say adults can read this too and still be as hooked as I was.
Pretty glad I had the next book to read straight on to =]

Finally, another book I can love.

The Hunger Games is interesting with good twists. Once you've read this book you will want to read the trilogy.
I'd been looking for a fantasy adventure book that wasn't childish for about 2 years and came across these. They are brilliant books, and actually even still brilliant after you've seen the movie. The last book, Mockingjay, is my favourite of the trilogy but you can't appreciate it until you've read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.
These are books you'll be talking about and recommending and also finding yourself wanting to indulge in buying the novelty items that are on sale when normally you wouldn't.
(Also, go for the original cover art. I'm not sure why anyone would go for the new, brightly-coloured one :S )

Loved every single page of the book.
The books consists of chapters of 9-12 pages and yet is so descriptive. Even though its only on about 280 pages it still doesn't lack of any descriptions or anything. It's just perfect. The book is fast paced and you want to read it till the end just so you can start the next one as soon as possible :)

Probably the best trilogy of books I have ever read. I couldn't put them down, so much that it took me a day to read each book. The story lines work so well and they always keep you on the edge of your seat, bed, wherever you read. At every moment you feel connected with Katniss and feel the pain, fear, happiness that she feels at every moment, definitely worth a buy.

These books are amazing. All three of them are page turners and when I got to the last one in the trilogy I didn't want it to end! Katniss is sent into an arena where she will fight 23 other children to the death to make the districts acknowledge the Capitol's power. In her last attempt to save herself and her teammate she has put them both at risk against the Capitol. Will the Hunger Games ever end for them? The best books I have ever read. I'd recommended them to anyone who loves a good book from 12-adult and I also recommended you read them in order to understand the story properly.

Excellent book that had me gripped all the way through. Full of excitement and adventure. Difficult to put the book down-I read it in just over a day! Really empathised with the characters throughout. Me and my boyfriend have both read and really enjoyed it. Have already started on the next one! Would definitely recommend it.

Best book i've ever read!!
26 May 2012
I am almost fifteen and find it so difficult to get any really good teen books, and this was amazing! It had everything (romance, action, comedy, love, hate...) and it is so much better and more detailed than the film!
Please read, sequels are great as well!
